Bimoli Cooking Oil Owned By Conglomerate Anthony Salim And Filma From Sinarmas By Tycoon Eka Tjipta Widjaja Becomes Favorites For Residents Of Paser Regency, East Kalimantan

JAKARTA - The Regent of Paser Regency, Dr. Fahmi Fadli, called the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs regarding the scarcity of cooking oil in the past week.

"The regent summoned us to confirm regarding the increasing number of people in Tanah Grogot City buying cooking oil at modern retail stores," said Head of Trade Paser Zaenal Ilmi in Tanah Grogot, quoted from Antara, Saturday, March 12.

He explained that the cooking oil that many people buy in modern retail stores is a certain product that has become a favorite of the people. namely Bimoli and Filma brand cooking oil.

"We explained, to the regent, that the overwhelming purchases were the people's favorite cooking oil, Bimoli and Filma. If there is a lot of medium cooking oil on the market, especially bulk oil, the price is cheap," he said.

Actually, there is one product, namely Medina brand medium cooking oil which every month distributes 51 thousand liters to modern retail stores in Paser Regency.

This brand of cooking oil costs Rp. 13,500 per liter. However, he indicated that the scarcity of cooking oil was presumably because the oil was bought in large quantities and resold at a higher price.

"Even cooking oil is currently sold at a price of Rp. 21,000 per liter," he said.

Zaenal also explained, to reduce the price increase, East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor has issued a Circular dated March 2, 2022, regarding the implementation of the policy of implementing the Highest Retail Price (HET) for cooking oil.

The governor's circular letter confirms the Highest Retail Price (HET) for cooking oil for the bulk class of Rp. 11,500 per liter, simple Rp. 13,500 per liter and premium type of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

Based on the results of observations by the Paser UKM Paser Industry and Trade Office, as many as 90 pieces of 2 liter cooking oil which were just distributed in 5 modern retail stores were sold out by the public.

"This means that people are panicking to buy oil at retail stores. To suppress price increases, we will conduct market inspections, following up on the governor's circular letter," said Zaenal.

He continued, based on information obtained from the Ministry of Trade, Paser Regency received a ration of cooking oil including 400 cartons of 2 liters of Medina, 100 cartons of oil of 1 liter of Medina, 1,200 cartons of Alif brand oil, 20,225 cartons of two liters.

Then, Indomart's share of oil on March 7, 2022 is 2,070 in Tanah Grogot Grogot and Long Ikis Subdistricts.

"There is also a total oil allotment of 11,000 from Bulog, for Paser, Balikpapan and Samarinda Regencies," concluded Zaenal.
