KENDARI - PT PLN (Persero) operates three electricity infrastructures worth IDR 377 billion to strengthen the reliability of electricity supply in North Sulawesi (Sulut) and Gorontalo regions.

PLN's Vice President of Corporate Communications Gregorius Adi Trianto said the operation of the electricity infrastructure for the two provinces was marked by the provision of the first voltage to the 150 kV Otam (Extension) Substation with 2 line bays and the 150 kV Molibagu (New) GI with a capacity of 30 MVA, and High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) 150 kV Otam - Molibagu along 75 circuit kilometers (kms).

South Bolaang Mongondow Regent Iskandar Kamaru expressed his appreciation to PLN for providing a very strategic 150 kV Molibagu GI voltage.

"With the presence of a substation in South Bolaang Mongondow, of course, it will increase the reliability of electricity supply and open up investment opportunities as much as possible in encouraging economic growth for the residents of South Bolaang Mongondow," said Iskandar Kamaru, quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 5.

Meanwhile, the General Manager of PLN's Sulawesi Development Main Unit, Defiar Anis, said the existence of this infrastructure would increase the reliability of electricity in the Bolaang Mongondow area.

"With more reliable electricity supply, residents in Otam Village, Bolaang Mongondow Regency to Molibagu Village, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency are able to enjoy 24-hour electricity," he said.

Not only strengthening the electricity system, continued Defiar, the operation of the three projects also increases efficiency, because now PLN no longer needs to operate the Molibagu Diesel Power Plant (PLTD).

"This is also in line with the dedieselization strategy carried out by PLN to reduce the use of fuel oil and increase the efficiency of the basic cost of electricity production," he said.

Defiar expressed his gratitude for the full support of local stakeholders so that efforts to improve electricity infrastructure can be realized.

"The collaboration and synergy carried out by PLN personnel is one of the success factors for this electricity infrastructure," added Defiar.
