Employees Must Read! The Job Loss Guarantee Budget (JKP) Turns Out To Be Taken From The 2022 PEN Fund

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani provided information related to the source of the Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) fund which the government plans to roll out soon.

The Minister of Finance stated that the JKP funds were taken from the 2022 National Economic Recovery (PEN) budget for the community protection cluster.

"For the protection of the community, the budget is Rp. 154.76 trillion, which is mainly for the continuation of the social assistance program, basic food PKH, Pre-Employment Cards, village BLT, and Job Loss Guarantees, as well as the expansion of social security which we need to anticipate," he said when holding a press conference on our State Budget virtually on Tuesday, February 22.

Just so you know, JKP is a compensation program for the enactment of the Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 2 of 2022. In the regulation it is stipulated that the rules for disbursing Old Age Security (JHT) deposits for workers at BP Jamsostek can only be done when they are 56 years old.

According to VOI records, JKP itself is a cash assistance to employees for six months after losing their job. In that period of time, workers will receive a transfer of 45 percent and then it will decrease to 25 percent gradually from the amount of salary they usually receive.

It should be noted that this scheme applies to companies that regularly pay mandatory contributions from their participants (employees). Then participants who do not have arrears in contributions, join the BPJS Health and Employment program. If any of the requirements are not met, the participant cannot take part in the JKP program.

On the same occasion, the Director General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata explained that the government's contribution to the JKP program is divided into two stages. The first is the initial funding contribution which was carried out last year in the amount of IDR 6 trillion.

"Last year there was also a government contribution for contributions of around Rp. 825 billion," he said.

Meanwhile, the contribution of the second phase, which will roll out this year, is planned at Rp900 billion.
