JAKARTA – PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) has the opportunity to take part in the grand MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit in March. Not as a racing participant, but this joint Indonesian and Japanese automotive manufacturer will support activities on the circuit through the provision of operational vehicles.

"In this racing event that is awaited by world racing lovers, as many as 72 units of Honda ADV150 produced by AHM will be used to mobilize all international racers, teams, and racing event organizers at this proud Indonesian circuit," said GM Marketing AHM Andy Wijaya in a statement quoted Sunday 6 February.

According to Andy, this support is a form of the company's commitment together with the government in supporting the development of motor racing and contributing to the success of the world's highest motorcycle racing event.

"We hope that the presence and performance of the Honda ADV150 big scooter as an official vehicle in this highest international racing event can support the activities of racers, crews, and teams," he said.

For information, at the World Superbike (WSBK) event in November last year, AHM handed over 40 units of the same type of motorcycle as operational vehicles.

On the same occasion, the Director of Operations and Business Innovation of PT Indonesia Tourism Development (Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation/ITDC) for the Mandalika region, Arie Prasetyo, expressed his appreciation to AHM.

The reason is, this vehicle is planned not only to be used in the circuit area, but also for events around Mandalika in the future.

"In line with regional developments including the increasing number of international events at The Mandalika, so the addition of this vehicle will certainly provide flexibility for the mobilization of operational teams in all areas," he said.

Meanwhile, the Honda ADV150 itself is claimed by AHM to have successfully penetrated sales to a number of countries in the form of Completely Built Up (CBU) and Completely Knock Down (CKD), such as the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, to Brazil.
