JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir emphasized that the SOE's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program was focused on the education sector, MSMEs, and the environment.

"I appreciate the cluster division that has been carried out for each of these programs so that each BUMN can be more focused," said Erick Thohir as quoted by Antara, Sunday, January 30.

TJSL in the education sector includes the distribution of quality education so that Indonesian children have convenience and access to science and technology. Meanwhile, the empowerment of MSMEs and ultra-micro to advance grades, and TJSL in the living environment which is focused on nature conservation and reforestation.

The Minister of SOEs said that the implementation of TJSL must also take into account the goals of sustainable development in community empowerment.

Erick gave an example of PLN in developing a PLTU that produces waste from burning coal that can be used by the community to make bricks and build houses.

"Remember, SOEs are no longer competitors to local creators or innovators. But they are a common part, in strengthening an independent and sovereign Indonesia. I hope that SOEs' innovation and TJSL breakthroughs can play an important role for Indonesia to face three challenges, namely global markets, digital disruption, and health resilience," said Erick.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir previously inaugurated the SOE Social and Environmental Responsibility Forum (TJSL) in Lampung.

"By adhering to the principle of equity and towards economic balance in society, the management must be able to bring SOE TJSL to be the prima donna of state companies to realize an advanced Indonesia that is sovereign, just, and prosperous," said Erick.

Erick said the TJSL Forum is a concrete implementation of the core values, Akhlak, namely the word harmonious and collaborative.

"I want SOE TJSL not to run independently or compete with each other. SOE TJSL activities must be well integrated (managed) in order to create the harmony of taste and can provide greater benefits to the community," said Erick.
