JAKARTA - The Insurance Victim Community from the companies AXA, AIA and Prudential continues to seek justice for their premium funds that are still being held.

Today, the policyholders complained about their fate to the Ombudsman and the DPR after previously mediation conducted by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) was deadlocked.

Unit Link Insurance Victim Community Coordinator Maria Trihartati said this step was aimed at getting a solution to the problems that befell them.

"We really hope that these two high state institutions can help and realize the hopes of the victims," he said in a written statement received by VOI, Thursday, January 13.

Maria revealed that the victims of unit-linked insurance actually had a very poor economic background. In fact, most of the victims were traders.

"So on this basis, we ask the DPR and the Ombudsman for help to urge the three insurance companies to return our funds in full refunds," asked Maria, who also worked as a food trader.

In the editorial notes, the total amount of funds demanded for settlement is Rp. 15 billion. Meanwhile, the number of customers who are members of the Insurance Victim Community is 350 people.

To note, the insurers AXA, AIA and Prudential had offered a premium refund of 50 percent of the agreed upon. The option was flatly rejected by the victims and still demanded 100 percent of the premium that had been promised.
