Gibran Sumringah, Minister Of Transportation Budi Works By Magic At Terminal Tirtonadi Solo: There Is A Sky Bridge To The Wedding Hall

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation is said to have changed the face of Terminal Tirtonadi Solo, Central Java by adding a number of modern facilities.

The type A terminal has multipurpose room facilities that can be used for various activities, such as exhibitions, music concerts, culinary delights, to a hall for weddings.

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi hopes that the Tirtonadi Terminal can become the center of activities for the people of Solo and its surroundings.

"This will be the first example of the application of a new concept of managing a terminal in Indonesia that has added value and supports various other sectors, namely tourism, industry, social, arts and culture, economy and other sectors," he said in a written statement, Sunday, January 9.

According to the Minister of Transportation, this public facility is also connected to Solo Balapan Station and Adi Sumarmo Airport. Bus passengers who will continue the train journey can walk through the Bridge (Sky Bridge) for approximately 500 meters to Solo Balapan Station, and can continue using the Adi Sumarmo Airport Train (KA BIAS) to the airport, and vice versa.

"We are trying to support the potential that exists in the city of Solo through the revitalization of the Tirtonadi Terminal which now has convention hall facilities, sports centers, food courts, and so on, which will attract the attention of the public," he said.

On the same occasion, Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka welcomed the innovations made by the ranks of the Ministry of Transportation. He revealed that the facilities in the terminal can be used to support a number of routine events in the city of Solo.

“There have been several events in Solo which have been held at the Tirtonadi Terminal, such as the Solo Keroncong performance, Rock in Solo concert, and a number of sports tournaments. The facilities here are quite complete, there really is a One Stop Solution here," he said.

For information, The New Terminal Tirtonadi Solo occupies an area of about 5 hectares, with a Sport Center coverage of 1,512 square meters which is claimed to be able to accommodate 300 grandstand spectators. Then, this infrastructure facility has a convention hall of 3,564 square meters that can accommodate up to 2,500 people.
