Construction Of The Becakayu Toll Road Section 2B Of The Jaya-Tambun Toll Road Costs Rp3.75 Trillion

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the construction cost of the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road section 2B reached Rp3.75 trillion. The section 2B (Becakayu) toll road covers the Marga Jaya-Tambun section.

"It will cost Rp3.75 trillion. We already have options to resolve this from the consortium," he said when met by reporters at the Becakayu Toll Road Section 2A, Jakarta, Friday, December 24.

This amount excludes land acquisition costs of Rp. 1.9 trillion. Luhut said the Waskita Karya Consortium as the developer of the Becakayu Toll Road had a funding option to complete the project.

"There will be two options for the funds. Funds will come from the private sector and loans that we link to the Sumatran Toll Road. We'll see later, but I think we have to finish it no later than next year or 2023 at the latest," he said.

Furthermore, Luhut admitted that he was surprised to see Becakayu stalled since 1996. In fact, according to him, this toll road has a broad impact in reducing congestion in Bekasi and Cawang.

"So we just want to finish it because it will reduce congestion from the Cawang bypass to Tambun, if this can be solved it will create good traffic," he said.

Based on data from Waskita Karya, the planned Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT) reaches IDR 5.277 trillion. This amount consists of debt of Rp. 3,430 trillion and equity of Rp. 1,847 trillion. Currently, the issuer with the stock code WSAT has no plans to fund section 2B with a capital deposit. This section is directed at 100 percent of its funding from third parties.

Waskita Karya also targets the construction of Becakayu section 2B to start in March 2022 and the operation target in 2025. Currently, the design progress (RTA) has reached 75 percent.

Previously, the issuer targeted the operation of the Becakayu Toll Road Section 2A Ujung in mid-2022. This optimism is after WSKT completed the Steel Box Arch (SBArch) girder erection work on the Becakayu Toll Road Section 2A Ujung project.
