Like Marvel Movies, Erick Thohir Says Indonesia Needs Avengers To Face World Challenges

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir likened the world's challenges to what happened in the films made by Marvel, namely Avengers Endgame, to the latest Eternals. Therefore, according to him, Indonesia needs avengers to face these challenges.

Erick originally talked about Thanos. Then he also discusses the avengers needed to fight him and save the world. However, many superhero characters in the film did not survive. Marvel as the cultivator of the film then continued with a film about superhero characters entitled Eternals.

Furthermore, Erick said the same as the previous film, Marvel presented a stronger superhero to fight against his enemy, the Celestial. Because, the Celestial not only destroy the earth but also the galaxy.

"What does that mean? Just like what happened today how the whole world is facing pressures from supply chain changes, namely with the globalization of increasingly open markets, economic disruption that can also replace humans with robotics, jobs with others and business opportunities are also changing, " he said at the Digital Generation Acceleration event, in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 15.

"Not to mention the pressure on health that we can also lose big figures in an instant and to form these big figures it takes 20-30 years," he continued.

Erick also likens it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe which makes various stories and continues to update in line with the storyline. According to Erick, this is done to fight new challenges.

Furthermore, Erick said that with the change of superhero characters in Marvel films, it is like the ecosystem changing too.

"What does that mean? Just like Marvel made the Universe in 1, 2, 3 now 4. Why? The new world must be full of new challenges, new superheroes are needed. If we used to talk about Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man now in Eternals We are talking about a much more powerful superhero, Ikaris and Thena, because the enemy is also much tougher. What does this mean? The ecosystem has changed," he explained.

Erick said that the current ecosystem changes with various challenges, such as Marvel films. Therefore, Indonesia needs its own roadmap in building an ecosystem. One of them is the digital ecosystem.

"When the ecosystem changes, each country changes, that's what the President emphasized, we must have our own ecosystem, our own roadmap, of course, the world of Indonesia, not other people's world, we must ensure that this ecosystem wins. Because otherwise our ecosystem will be eaten by others, " he said.
