JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir has officially appointed Darmawan Prasodjo as President Director of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN to replace Zulkifli Zaini, starting today, Monday 6 December.

Erick advised Darmawan Prasodjo as the new President Director of PLN, to continue the transformation efforts that have been made to continue to be improved.

"The energy transition carried out by PLN requires a breakthrough so that it does not burden the state and society," said Erick, in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, December 6.

Furthermore, Erick said that in managing a company, especially in BUMN, a leader must rely on the responsibilities that are carried out with heart and sincerity.

"Because after all, the position given to us is nothing but a mandate. The mandate is to contribute as much as possible to the country and have the widest social impact in the form of improving services to the community," he said.

Darmawan is not new to PLN. Prior to occupying the chair of main director (director of director), he had occupied the position of deputy president director when Zulkifli was still serving as president director.

Previously, Darmawan was also trusted by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to occupy the Deputy 1 seat for control, development, monitoring and evaluation of priority programs at the presidential staff office in 2015-2019.

When he became a KSP deputy, the man who was born in Magelang, 19 October 1970, also served as a Commissioner of PLN in 2018-2019. He obtained these various positions after pursuing a career as an economist in the energy sector for more than 15 years in the United States.

Darmawan has also been a candidate for a member of the DPR legislature for the electoral district (Dapil) V Central Java in 2014. His constituencies at that time included the areas of Solo, Klaten, Sukoharjo, and Boyolali.
