JAKARTA - The government through the Director of State Property of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) Encep Sudarwan said that currently it is working hard to give permanent legal status to tens of thousands of state property (BMN).

According to Encep, this effort was carried out by mass certifying state assets in order to avoid problems and legal disputes that could potentially arise in the future.

In his notes, until November 24, 2021, the number of BMNs that have been successfully certified is 23,652 fields or 88.29 percent of the target set for this year, which is 26,790 fields.

"One of the steps in managing BMN is to provide certificates for state assets," he said in a webinar on Friday, November 26.

Encep added that the importance of official documents on BMN is increasingly relevant to the current emerging phenomenon, namely the increasing prevalence of property mafia cases, especially land.

"Perhaps, currently there are many issues regarding certificates, our artists also have problems with certificates. For that, we have to secure state property with high value,” he said.

From the data shared by Encep, the 2021 certification achievement target has quadrupled from 2020 which was 7,870 fields with the realization of 6,921 fields.

Meanwhile, for the 2022 period, the Directorate General of State Assets is expected to complete 26,414 fields.
