Conglomerate Dato Tahir And His Son Disburse Rp21.31 Billion To Purchase Mayapada Hospital's Shares

JAKARTA - Conglomerate Dato Sri Tahir, who is the Deputy President Commissioner of PT Sejahteraraya Anugrahjaya Tbk (SRAJ) bought shares in Mayapada Hospital on November 23, 2021.

In an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, quoted on Friday, November 26, Dato Sri Tahir bought 2,500,000 SRAJ shares. This amount is equivalent to 0.021 percent of the issued and paid-up capital by SRAJ.

Tahir bought SRAJ's shares at a price of Rp406 per share. Thus, the total funds spent to buy SRAJ shares were Rp 1.01 billion. Previously, Tahir did not own SRAJ shares.

"The purpose of the investment transaction, direct ownership status," wrote Dato Sri Tahir.

Dato Sri Tahir himself is the founder of the Mayapada group, a conglomerate of businesses in banking, healthcare and property. The Tahir family owns shares in Bank Mayapada and Maha Properti Indonesia.

Quoting Forbes, the total wealth of Tahir and his family reached US$2.8 billion or around Rp39.97 trillion. He is the 10th richest person in Indonesia according to Forbes as of December 2020.

Apart from Tahir, Jane Tahir also bought SRAJ's shares on November 23, 2021. SRAJ's shares purchased reached 50 million shares. The number of shares is equivalent to 0.417 percent of the issued and paid-up capital by SRAJ.

Thus, the purchase value of the SRAJ shares was Rp. 20.30 billion. The purpose of the SRAJ share purchase transaction is also for investment with direct ownership status.

This means, Tahir and Jane poured a total of Rp21.31 billion to buy SRAJ shares.

SRAJ shareholders as of October 29, 2021 include PT Surya Cipta Inti Cemerlang at 59.99 percent, High Pro Investment Limited at 18.17 percent, BNYM SA/NV AS Cust Of Minot Light APAC Ltd at 8.66 percent, Wing Harvest Limited by 5.91 percent, the community 7.27 percent.
