Allegations Of Asian Argento Sexual Harassment Against Rob Cohen Which Are Deemed Confusing

JAKARTA - Actress and #MeToo activist, Asia Argento made a horrendous claim. He said director Rob Cohen sexually abused him.

According to Variety, Argento said Cohen did this when he was interviewed by the Italian newspaper Il Corriere della Sera and other media. The Fast and Furious director reportedly forced Argento to drink GHB.

“At that time, I really didn't know. I woke up in the morning naked in his bed, "said Argento who said this incident was done in 2002 when he starred in the film xXx with Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson.

Later, he attended Verissimo's talk show to promote his autobiographical book, Anatomy of a Wild Heart, in which the story of Cohen's abuse is fully explained.

At first, Argento wasn't sure what happened to him but when a friend explained GHB, Argento came to understand. GHB or Gamma-hydroxybutyrate is a drug commonly used by rapists to carry out their actions. GHB has a calming effect as well as muscle building. This drug is often mentioned in cases of date rape or rape by someone close to you.

Argento had the courage to speak up after hearing two people (including Cohen's daughter) talk about the same thing. The first woman in early 2019 told of what happened to the Huffington Post.

This woman admitted to being raped after Cohen invited her to a meeting in Manhattan to discuss an episode of the television show. In the same year, his daughter, Valkyrie Weather experienced something similar when he was a child. In fact, Cohen had invited her to visit commercial sex workers abroad when she was a teenager.

Originator of the Harvey Weinstein Case

Asia Argento was among the first to speak out about the #MeToo case including harassment by famous producer Harvey Weinstein.

In 2018, Argento told The New Yorker that the producer forced Argento to massage him in a hotel room on the French Riviera while attending the Cannes Film Festival, but that Weinstein raped him instead.

At that time, Argento was still 21 years old. He didn't tell anyone because he was afraid the producer would ruin his career. “I know he 'crushed' a lot of people before. That's why these stories - in my case, it's been 20 years, some of them are much longer - and never got released, "he said.

Argento was one of 35 other women who accused Weinstein of sexual assault. Argento also attended the closing of the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and said, "Tonight, standing among you, there is someone who has to take responsibility for his attitude towards women who are not worthy of this industry or any workplace."

Argento's action received a response from the public because afterwards many female public figures came out to voice and realized they were not alone.

The accusation from Jimmy Bennett

Asia Argento's name was in the spotlight after boldly voicing the harvey weinstein abuse. But on the other hand, he also became a concern because a young model named Jimmy Bennett accused him of harassing him.

The two met in the film project The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things in which Bennett played Argento's seven-year-old son. They met when Bennett was 17 and Argento was 37.

Bennett said he was afraid to share this incident because he had been asked to shut up. Argento parties denied this and thought Bennett had asked Argento for some money.

In 2018, an exciting photo of Argento and Bennett was released. Having rejected all claims, Argento confirmed that he had a relationship with Bennett but did not know that Bennett was still a minor at that time.

Argento also explained that sex was consensual and there was no coercion. In the midst of this furor, Argento opted out of X-Factor Italy.

Rob Cohen's representative answered the claims made by Asia Argento to Variety. "Mr. Cohen emphatically denies Asia Argento's allegations of (sexual) assault against him as false (claims). "

Furthermore, the representative also said that Cohen considered the 45-year-old actress as just a friend.

"So this claim dating back to 2002 is confusing, especially considering what (Asia Argento) has reported over the last few years."
