History Of Clit And Reasons Many Teenagers Commit Violence

JAKARTA - The hashtag #DIYdaruratklitih soared on Twitter, Tuesday, February 4. Klitih referred to as street crimes, mostly committed by teenagers and disturbing residents of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). The hashtag #DIYdaruratklitih has become trending after more than 30,000 tweets emerged discussing klitih that have occurred again in recent times.

As quoted by kompas.com, this happened because several cases had emerged. One of them, because of the klitih case, the life of a teenager named Fatur Nizar Rakadio (16) died on Thursday, January 9. He became a victim of clit in the Selopamioro area, Imogiri, Bantul.

The outbreak of the klitih phenomenon has urged the DIY Regional Police to hold a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), today, Tuesday, February 4 at the Aston Soedjarwo Building. Quoted from the official website of Polda DIY, the forum initiated by Ditbinmas Polda DIY was attended by 179 people consisting of resource persons and participants from both police personnel and other agencies.

From the FGD activity, it is hoped that ideas or input will emerge regarding the handling of street crime or crime. So that the phenomenon of klitih can be kept to a minimum for the sake of creating a safe, comfortable and conducive Yogyakarta.

History of klitih

According to Ahmad Fuadi et al in the Determination Factors of Klitih Behavior (2019), klitih was originally defined as an ordinary walk that was carried out without a clear purpose. Nglitih or klitih in the context of juvenile delinquency is going around in a vehicle carried out by a group of unscrupulous groups of students with the intention of looking for other school students who are considered enemies. Klitih can also be assumed as circling the city aimlessly.

When traced when the first clit case existed, according to the Kompas Daily archive, a criminal incident involving a teenager had emerged in the 1990s.

Kompas daily noted that on July 7, 1993, the Yogyakarta Regional Police (Polwil) began mapping the whereabouts of youth gangs in Yogyakarta. The Regional Police claimed to have information about the whereabouts of youth gangs and groups of young people who often commit crimes in Yogyakarta.

Then in the 2000s, the phenomenon of brawl began to mushroom in Yogyakarta. To the extent that the Mayor of Yogyakarta at that time, Herry Zudianto, was furious.

Herry threatened that if any of the students there were involved in the brawl, they would be sent back to their parents or expelled altogether. The appeal was considered successful in reducing youth violence.

The reduced number of wandering students has made it difficult for gangs of other students who are desperate to find trouble to find enemies. From there they then carry out activities to find enemies by circling the city randomly.

The reason teenagers do that

If you think about it rationally, maybe many people think that clit action is just ridiculous. Besides harming others, it also harms yourself. However, those who are mostly teenagers lately seem to close their eyes and ears. So why would they want to do something that could be said to be pointless?

According to the research of Ahmad Fuadi et al in the Determination Factors of Klitih Behavior (2019), there are several factors that influence them in doing clit. Among other things, there are problems with family backgrounds, relationships with groups, relationships with the environment, and individual character.

One of the informants they interviewed argued that they had committed clinging because their father had left them. Since the departure of his father, he has only lived with his mother and sister. Later, he became distant from his family, and close to other people.

Because of this, this resource person is often outside spending time with his friends rather than staying at home. Feeling that they are no longer cared for, it triggers children to commit acts of violence. In addition, the background of parents who have committed domestic violence also triggers why children (adolescents) can become involved in clinging.

The second factor causes adolescents to behave clumsily because of the relationship with the group. This factor reveals that teenagers need "recognition" from their peers. But unfortunately this confession was obtained from negative things. "It will increasingly get a good name in a gang or hangout environment, when the subject succeeds in injuring other people on the street," wrote Ahmad Fuadi et al (2019).

Apart from the relationship factor with the group, environmental aspects also influence. Still according to the research of Ahmad Fuadi et al (2019), an environment that tends to let its citizens free can make teenagers free to do anything.

Then the last is the personal character factor itself. Those who do clit, are mostly those who have difficulty controlling their emotions, are easily offended when bullied by others, and tend to be aggressive. From the results of the research, the reason they commit violence is one of them because it is a means of outlet because there are problems with their parents and revenge because they have been disturbed by other people.
