What We Need To Know Ahead Of WSBK Mandalika 2021: Tickets, Spectator Rules, And Next Race Agenda

JAKARTA - The schedule for the World Superbike (WSBK) Mandalika 2021 has been set. A series of racing action will start on Friday, November 19 morning through Sunday, November 21 afternoon. WSBK became the first racing tournament at the Mandalika Circuit. Another racing agenda has been scheduled.

WSBK Mandalika 2021 will be a special agenda because it is the last series to determine the championship title between PATA Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu and Kawasaki Racing rider Jonathan Rea.

There are three races in each WSBK series: Race 1, Race 2, and Superpole Race. In Race 1 and Race 2, the 15 leading riders will compete for points. Meanwhile, the Superpole Race only involves nine riders in the race for points.

In the 2021 WSBK Mandalika schedule, the first free practice session or FP1 will take place at 10.00 WIB. While the second free practice or FP2 WSBK Mandalika will start at 14.00 WIB.

The series continues on Saturday, November 20, with the agenda of FP3, Superpole, and the first race. On that day, a number of Indonesian musicians will take part, from GIGI to Marion Jola.

On Sunday, November 21, the racing agenda began in the morning, namely the warm-up session at 08.00 WIB, which was then followed by a second racing session. Rockers, Andy / Rif are scheduled to fill the agenda to lead the recitation of the national anthem Indonesia Raya.

In addition to holding the last WSBK series, the Mandalika Circuit also presents the actions of the 2021 Asia Talent Cup (ATC) and World Supersport (WSSP) riders. ATC is a racing event filled with young racers.

ATC is a showcase of MotoGP talent. ATC Mandalika itself is the second series after Qatar. According to the initial agenda, ATC should also be held in Sepang (Malaysia), Buriram (Thailand), Motegi (Japan), and Philip Island (Australia).

However, all four series were canceled due to COVID-19. In Mandalika, ATC itself had problems. Originally scheduled to be held on November 13-14 yesterday, the racing schedule was postponed to November 19-21 -- to coincide with WSBK -- for safety reasons.

According to the schedule released by ATC, the agenda will begin with the first free practice or FP1 at 09.15-09.45 WIB local time. The agenda was continued with the FP2 session at 12.00-12.30 local time. In the afternoon, 16.15, the first race (Race 1) will be held in 16 rounds.

The next day, Saturday, November 20, the ATC qualifying session will be held at 09.40-10.10 and will be continued with Race 2 at 12.00 and Race 3 at 16.30. Like Race 1, Race 2 and Race 3 sessions will also be conducted in 16 rounds. Lastly, on Sunday, there is only one ATC activity, namely Race 3, which is scheduled at 12.00, for a total of 16 rounds.

Meanwhile, World Supersport (WSPP) 2021 is a motorcycle racing class with a capacity of 600cc. This event deserves attention because it is followed by Indonesian racer, Galang Hendra. The 21-year-old rider who was fostered by PT Yamaha Indonesia strengthened one of the top teams, Ten Kate Racing Yamaha with Swiss racer Dominique Aegerter.

Galang Hendra is currently in 18th position in the standings, with a record of 24 points. Galang Hendra's best record occurred at the Aragon Motorland Circuit. In the Race 2 series, Galang Hendra finished in tenth position.

In addition to the two racing agendas above, the Mandalika Circuit is also included in the 2022 MotoGP calendar. Had been included in the temporary calendar, last October, Dorna Sports, as the MotoGP organizer announced that the Mandalika Circuit was officially included in the MotoGP 22 calendar. The number one racing agenda will be held on 18-20 March 2022.

The organizers offer varied ticket prices, ranging from Rp. 795 thousand to Rp. 19.5 million as the most expensive ticket category. The cheapest tickets are priced for the Standard Grand Stand category, where ticket holders will occupy the stands near the 15th and 17th corners.

Furthermore, tickets with a price of Rp. 1,395,000 are for the West Grand Stand category. The next category is the Main Grandstand, with ticket prices ranging from Rp. 1,850,000 to Rp. 2,350,000. Slightly more expensive is the Premiere Grand Stand.

Spectators must redeem tickets for that category at a price of IDR 2,650,000 to IDR 2,820,000 to occupy the stands facing the start and finish lines. The last, as the most expensive category is Hospitality Suites, which is divided into Deluxe Class and Premiere Class, with ticket redemption prices of Rp. 14,950,000 and Rp. 19,500,000.

The organizers provide online and on the spot ticket access for the 2021 WSBK Mandalika series. Quoted from The Mandalika GP page, this circuit has a capacity of 50 thousand seats, with a standing composition of 138,000 spectators.

However, due to the pandemic situation, the organizers limited the number of spectators to only 25 thousand people. A number of strict rules are also enforced. According to government directives, the crew and the entire team are required to quarantine for five days.

For spectators, especially local residents, the government also prioritizes vaccination. The government promised to accelerate the COVID-19 vaccination for Lombok Island residents. According to information from the site, vaccination is one of the conditions for purchasing tickets.
