JAKARTA - A member of the Patwal Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Iptu DS, died as a result of an accident on the Jakarta Toll road section in the direction of Cikampek KM 13+400. The reason is that the truck grazed the motorcycle of Iptu DS.

"He died on the spot when he was about to pull the truck over from the third lane", said Head of Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement of Traffic Directorate, Metro Jaya Police AKBP Argo Wiyono when confirmed, Thursday, October 28.

The deadly accident began when Iptu DS was tasked with escorting a group of the Polda Metro Jaya supervision team for activities in Bekasi, this afternoon.

At that time, Iptu DS tried to direct the truck to move to the slow lane on the left side. However, the truck driver steered to the right and finally grazed Iptu DS.

"Suddenly the truck swerved to the right and the member fell on the road divider in the middle when the motorbike got onto the truck and it fell and went under it. The victim suffered head injuries", said Argo.

After the accident, the truck driver was immediately taken into custody. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled.

However, a few hours later, the truck driver turned himself in. He went to the PJR Cikampek police station and admitted his guilt.

"The truck driver has been detained and secured the process will be handled by the Sub-Directorate of Law Enforcement Metro Jaya Police", said Argo.
