Jealousy Of Wife Chatting With Victim Is The Reason For East Lombok Police Shooting Dead Colleagues Using SS-V2 Assault Rifles

JAKARTA - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police explained the motive of a member of the Wanasaba Police, East Lombok Regency, with the initials MN who shot dead his colleague, Police Brigadier One with the initials HT. The perpetrator is suspected of being burned by jealousy of his wife.

"The indication is that the perpetrator was jealous who knew the victim was chatting with the perpetrator's wife," said Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Grand Commissioner Pol Artanto, in Mataram, Wednesday, October 27, quoted from Antara.

However, he confirmed the indications are in the process of further investigation. One of them is by examining the entire conversation history on the cellphone of the victim, the perpetrator and his wife.

"This is what we are investigating," he said.

The incident by a police officer being shot by a fellow police officer occurred on Monday, October 25 yesterday at one of the houses, BTN Griya Pesona Madani, East Lombok Regency.

Based on the results of the crime scene, HT is presumed dead at 11.20 central Indonesia time, about four hours after one of the witnesses found HT's body lying covered in blood.

From the autopsy results at Bhayangkara Hospital in Mataram, HT was declared dead from a gunshot wound lodged in the right chest.

This result was also corroborated by findings at the TKP, namely two bullet casings which were thought to have come from the SS-V2 Sabhara individual assault rifle.

The shooting of the East Lombok Police Public Relations member was also revealed from MN's confession, when he returned the rifle to its place of duty.

Because of his actions, MN was thrown into the East Lombok Police Detention Center and named a murder suspect.
