44 Residents' Houses Damaged By Strong Winds In Mojokerto

JAKARTA - Rain with high intensity accompanied by strong winds hit Jetis Village, Jetis District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java on Sunday, October 24.

Plt. Head of BNPB's Disaster Data and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said that 44 houses were reported to have been damaged after being hit by the strong winds.

"Details of damage to residents' houses include 18 housing units with severe damage category, 8 moderately damaged housing units and 18 lightly damaged housing units," Abdul Muhari said in his statement, Tuesday, October 26.

The Mojokerto Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) also reported that as many as 88 families were affected, including 2 people who suffered minor injuries from this incident.

As a follow-up, the Mojokerto Regency BPBD has coordinated with relevant agencies to conduct a rapid assessment and provide treatment for affected victims.

"The Mojokerto Regency BPBD team along with a joint team were assisted by the community to repair damaged houses. One of them is by providing tarpaulins for temporary materials that can be used to cover gaps in the roof of damaged houses," he said.
