BIN Intensify Student Vaccination in Central Sulawesi to Support Face-to-Face Learning

JAKARTA - The Central Sulawesi Regional State Intelligence Agency (BIN) is intensifying vaccinations for students in the province to form group immunity from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to support the government regarding the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM).

"The special student vaccinations that are carried out also involve the local government," said the Head of the BIN for the Province of Central Sulawesi Brigadier General Andi Chandra As'adudin in Palu, quoted from Antara, Sunday, October 17.

Andi Chandra said the implementation of mass vaccination was to expand vaccine coverage, especially among students.

"The implementation of vaccination in Central Sulawesi on October 19, 2021, will also be held in nine provinces," said the one-star general.

He explained that the vaccination of students in Central Sulawesi with BIN degrees and the local government provided 3,500 doses of vaccine stock.

A total of 3,500 doses were injected to students at SMA Negeri 1 Parigi, Parigi Moutong Regency, SMA Negeri 1 Bungku, Morowali Regency, and SMP Negeri 6 Luwuk, Banggai Regency.

Vaccination targeting students in Central Sulawesi, he said, was monitored directly by President Joko Widodo virtually, especially the implementation of vaccinations at SMA Negeri 1 Parigi Moutong.

In addition to students, he explained that vaccination also places the general public as targets with the support of a stock of 2,000 doses of vaccine, which was carried out in the Regencies of Tojo Una-Una, Parigi Moutong, Banggai, and Morowali.

"The total vaccination activity this time is targeting 5,500 people," said Brigadier General Andi Chandra.

Vaccination of students and communities carried out by the Central Sulawesi Regional BIN in collaboration with the local government, is the second time after a similar activity with a target of 11,000 doses at the end of last September in Palu City and Poso Regency.

Brigadier General Andi Chandra added, Central Sulawesi Regional BIN together with the TNI and Polri will continue to oversee the implementation of vaccinations in Central Sulawesi as an effort to establish communal immunity so that community activities and the economy can return to normal.

"Therefore, it takes collective awareness of all elements of society to carry out vaccinations for the health of themselves and their environment," said Andi Chandra As'adudin.
