Warning from the Mayor of Tangerang, Parents Must Take Care of Elementary School Students Before COVID-19 Vaccination

JAKARTA - Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah appealed to schools to coordinate with parents regarding the implementation of vaccinations for elementary students starting October 18, 2021.

"Schools can coordinate with parents to prepare their children's conditions before receiving the vaccine. So that children are not worried or afraid of being injected and ensure that the child's condition is fit when vaccinated," said Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah in Tangerang, quoted from Antara, Sunday 17 October.

Mayor Arief further explained that the Tangerang City Government continues to anticipate the occurrence of positive case findings in the implementation of limited PTM through tightening the application of health protocols in the classroom and maximizing student vaccinations. "For that, we need the support and participation of all so that this effort can run optimally," he said.

So far, Tangerang City's vaccination achievement based on the COVID-19 vaccination data from the Tangerang City Health Office has reached up to 1,282,038 doses for dose 1 and 860,392 for dose 2 vaccines.

Previously, the Tangerang Banten City Health Office stated that 5,305 elementary school students aged 12 years would be vaccinated from 18 - 27 October 2021.

The Head of the Tangerang City Health Office, Dr. Dini Anggraeni, said that this vaccination activity was an effort to suppress the spread and the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) was limited.

"The type of vaccine used is Pfizer. Implementation will be held at the district level in locations that have been determined by Dindik. In fact, the participants had already received the invitation barcode that had been sent by the Health Office through the school," she said.

She also explained that the requirements for vaccine participants include having their 12th birthday on September 30, 2021, maximum on the date of implementation. Then the child or student is in good health and monitored. Bring your identity card or family card and bring the invitation barcode.

"We need support and participation from all parties. So that vaccination at the student level can run optimally," said Dr. Dini.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tangerang City Education Office, Jamaluddin, said that all schools had approached all parents.

The location for the vaccination of elementary school students is Monday, October 18 in Karawaci District with the location of SDN Karawaci 5, Cibodas Raya Street, and Batu Ceper District at SDN Darussalam, Pembangunan Street of 1 RT02/04 Batu Sari Village, Batuceper District

Tuesday 19 October in Neglasari District with the location of SDN Kedaung Wetan 5 Iskandar Muda Street and Pinang District are located at SDN Panunggangan 5 or SDN Pinang 3

Thursday, October 21, in Benda District with the location of SDN Jurumudi 1, 3, and 4 Complex locations. Tangerang District with the location of SDN Tangerang 6 Nyi Mas Melati Street No. 2, Sukasari Village. Friday, October 22, in Periuk District, the location of SDN Komplek Periuk 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6.
