DENPASAR - The Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force together with a joint TNI-Polri task force will oversee the supervision of foreign tourists visiting the Island of the Gods.

The escort starts from leaving the airport to arriving at the hotel which is used as a temporary place to stay during the quarantine period.

"We, together with the joint task force, are obliged to carry out surveillance, even when foreign tourists are quarantined in hotels," said Secretary of the Bali Province COVID-19 Task Force I Made Rentin in Denpasar, quoted by Antara, Friday, October 15.

Until now, said Rentin, there are 55 hotels that are used as temporary quarantine places for foreign travelers (PPLN) or foreign tourists visiting Bali, along with the opening of international flights to the Island of the Gods starting October 14.

"The hotels are spread across Nusa Dua (23 hotels), Sanur (9 hotels), Ubud (13 hotels), and Kuta (10 hotels)," said the man who is also the Head of the Bali Province Regional Disaster Management Agency.

Previously there were 35 hotels in Bali that had been selected based on the results of the verification of the Denpasar Class I Port Health Office (KKP) to serve as temporary lodging or quarantine for foreign tourists who had just arrived on the Island of the Gods.

"However, now it has increased to 55 hotels with a capacity of 11,394 rooms. Verification continues to be carried out by the KKP and the number of quarantine hotels will certainly continue to increase to meet the ideal number," said Rentin.

Rentin said that the hotel room capacity that needs to be prepared is five times the number of PPLN arrivals or foreign tourists every day.

"Based on the direction from the Ministry of Health, if the hotel that is used as a quarantine place has a different building and a separate reception channel, it is still allowed to receive guests other than foreign tourists who undergo quarantine for five days," he said.

The point, said Rentin, is that there is no interaction between domestic tourists staying at the hotel and PPLN or foreign tourists undergoing quarantine. "There should be no interaction with a clear and separate partition," he said.

The government has decided that 19 countries are allowed to enter Bali, namely Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Liechtenstein, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Hungary, and Norway.

Regarding foreign tourists who may enter Bali, the departure requirements must be complete vaccination, negative result of PCR Swab test on D-3 before departure; fill out the International e-HAC application which is integrated with the PeduliLindung application and the Love Bali application.

Furthermore, they must have health insurance with a minimum coverage value of 100 thousand US dollars which includes financing for handling COVID-19.

Requirements for arrival at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport must show completed documents according to the e-HAC application, immigration requirements, and take the PCR Swab test.

If the results are positive (no symptoms, mild, moderate, and severe symptoms), tourists will be taken to a hospital that has been determined by the Bali Provincial Government to undergo treatment or isolation.

If the results are negative, tourists will be taken to the designated hotel to undergo quarantine for five days.
