WEST JAVA - Director General of the Religious Courts of the Supreme Court (MA) Aco Nur revealed, West Java had the highest number of divorce cases during the pandemic.

"Most of them are West Java, then East Java," said Aco Nur while attending the online inauguration of the One Stop Service (PTSP) at the West Jakarta Religious Court, Kembangan, as reported by Antara, Friday, October 15.

However, Aco did not explain in detail the number of divorce cases in West Java Province and its comparison with other provinces.

However, according to him, many factors have influenced the high number of divorce cases during the COVID-19 pandemic. One of them is the problem of the economy.

Many household arks are shaky because economic needs are not adequately met. "Many have been laid off from work so that may be one of the triggers for people to divorce," said Aco.

Not only because of the economy, he also considers social media to be one of the factors that cause divorce.

According to him, many social media spit out people's household problems until they finally get divorced.

This has triggered other residents to be moved to divorce because it is considered a solution to problems in the household.

He hopes that people can use social media more wisely so as not to trigger divisions in the household.

"I hope that the problems that cause and provoke them to do that are minimized. The awareness that life is a challenge is not a factor in the splitting of the household," said Aco Nur.
