Mothers In Padangsidimpuan, North Sumatra Were Deceived, Promised To Get COVID-19 Assistance As Long As They Sent Nude Photos

MEDAN - A number of housewives (IRT) in South Padangsidimpuan District, Padangsidimpuan City, North Sumatra became victims of fraud through Facebook.

Initially, the mothers were lured with COVID-19 funding assistance worth Rp. 5 million after sending their nude photos. They then reported the matter to the Padangsidimpuan Police.

A victim with the initials YP (30) said that a few days ago, he received a message from his Facebook friend with the account name Anisa Cyank. At that time, his friend asked if he had received COVID-19 funding assistance.

"I said I haven't got it yet. He said he already got Rp. 5 million. I immediately asked what the conditions were. He said the photo of the ID card was the same as the photo," YP told reporters, Thursday, October 14.

After YP sent a photo of her ID card and a photo of herself, Anisa Cyank's account then asked for her cell phone number. The reason is that YP's phone number has been deleted.

"Not long after I sent it, I was immediately called by a woman who claimed to be Laura as a midwife. In that conversation, she asked me to follow the requirements by sending a number of photos of naked people," said YP.

Feeling confident, YP just obeyed the terms of the perpetrators by sending naked photos. Not only that, the perpetrators even asked for Rp. 3.5 million after getting photos of the victims.

"Because I didn't have that much money. I asked for less and I only sent IDR 300 thousand to a BNI Bank account with the number 1237752308 in the name of Muhammad Roky. When I called Laura's friend, a man named Ruli who claimed to be a police officer," YP said.

But after waiting, the promised money never entered his account. In fact, YP continues to receive threats from the perpetrators to spread his photos.

"Until now, we are still receiving threats from him, sir. There are dozens of us who have become victims," said YP.

Then, YP went to his friend's house who had an Anisa Cyank account. The account owner said his Facebook account had been hijacked.

"That's why we came here (Polres) to report this incident. We ask for the perpetrators to be arrested immediately," he said.

Unlike YP, RM, who is also a victim of this fraud, has sent money to Muhammad Roky's account amounting to Rp. 2 million.

"I'm afraid, bro, that's why I sent that much," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Padangsidimpuan Police, AKP Bambang Priyatno confirmed the report when it was confirmed.

"We have received the report. The reporter is on behalf of Annisa (24) and the reported initial is RS," said AKP Bambang to VOI, Thursday, October 14, evening.

Currently, said AKP Bambang, his party is still investigating the report.

"Still in the process of investigation. We will clarify the reporter and the witnesses," he said.
