JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD (Regional House of Representatives), Gembong Warsono, heard information that one of the factions who rejected the Interpellation Formula E threatened its members not to attend the plenary session of the interpellation today.

Gembong said, if any members of the faction attended the plenary session, they would be fired from their party faction. This is why no faction members other than PDIP and PSI participated in the interpellation plenary.

"Today, one faction threatened to fire its members when he attended. That means a very serious threat to members who are expected to attend this event", said Gembong at the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 28.

Gembong admitted that he was surprised why the seven factions so vehemently refused to attend the Formula E interpellation plenary meeting.

In fact, he said, the interpellation was limited to the right to ask DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan about budget considerations to the feasibility study of organizing the electric car racing event.

"Our people just want to ask a question. Is there something very crucial when talking about holding an interpellation? There is nothing very crucial and there is no effect. Are there any effects of dropping Anies? Absolutely not. It didn't even occur to me", said Gembong.

At today's plenary meeting, there were only 32 DPRD members present, namely 25 members of the PDIP faction and 7 members of the PSI faction. In fact, previously PDIP and PSI admitted that they had intensively lobbied members of other factions.

Unfortunately, the lobbying was fruitless, so the plenary meeting did not reach a quorum of 50 percent + 1 member attendance. The plenary meeting was finally postponed and will be rescheduled at a meeting of the Deliberative Body (Bamus).

However, Gembong admitted that his party had not given up. They will discuss the continuation of the interpellation plenary plan through a joint leadership meeting (Rapimgab).

"At best, before the Deliberative Body, there is a joint leadership meeting. At the Rapimgab, we can compromise in the sense of building an understanding agreement to get to the next plenary meeting. So there are two stages that we must do", explained Gembong.
