Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte Becomes Suspect In Joko Tjandra's Red Notice Money Laundering Case

JAKARTA - Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte has been named a suspect in the red notice money laundering case (TPPU) Joko Tjandra.

"The report on the results of the title is like that," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, confirming the status of the suspect in the money laundering offenses of Inspector General Napoleon when confirmed by reporters, Wednesday evening, September 22.

For information, in the case of removing the red notice for Joko Tjandra, Inspector General Napoleon was sentenced to 4 years in prison by the judges of the Jakarta Corruption Court.

At the appeal level, the panel of judges upheld the verdict. This means that Napoleon Bonaparte is still proven to be proven according to the indictment of Article 5 of Law no. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.

Napoleon Bonaparte was proven to have received bribes of US$370,000 (approximately Rp5.137 billion) and 200,000 Singapore dollars (approximately Rp2.1 billion) from the convict in the "cessie" corruption case of Bank Bali Djoko Tjandra through Tommy Sumardi so that Napoleon Bonaparte helped the process of removing Djoko's name. Tjandra from the People's Wanted List (DPO) registered at the Directorate General of Immigration.

For this money, Napoleon also removed Djoko Tjandra's name from the Enhanced Cekal System (ECS) on the immigration information system (SIMKIM).

The contents of the letter basically convey the abolition of the Interpol "red notice".

Furthermore, on May 5, 2020 Inspector General Napoleon again ordered his subordinates to make a letter from the National Police International Relations Division Number: B/1036/V/2020/NCB-Div HI dated May 5, 2020 regarding Submission of the Elimination of Interpol Red Notices addressed to the Directorate General of Immigration on behalf of the Kadivhubinter Polri Secretary of NCB Interpol Indonesia Brigadier General Nugroho Slamet Wibowo who said that the Interpol Red Notice on behalf of Djoko Soegiarto Tjandra Control No: A-1897/7-2009 had been deleted from the Interpol database system since 2014 or after 5 years.
