JAKARTA - Israeli police today arrested two of six Palestinian militiamen who escaped from a heavily guarded prison some time ago.

This was conveyed by the Israeli police on their official Twitter, as reported by Reuters via Antara, Saturday, September 19. The two militias were found in the eastern district of Jenin City.

"The pursuit was successfully completed in the joint operation of the IDF, Community Security Service, and Police Special Forces last night in Jenin City. Two militiamen who escaped from prison have been arrested," said Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee.

"The two saboteurs surrendered, Nayef Kamamji and Munadel Yacoub Infeiat, after the military and police surrounded the house where they were hiding in Jenin."

Following the escape of the inmates from Gilboa prison on 6 September, two of the six militiamen were arrested on 10 September and two more militiamen were arrested the following day.

An Israeli military spokesman posted on Twitter a photo of the two detainees during their arrest on Sunday.

Six Palestinian militiamen broke into Israel's maximum-security prison with Hollywood-style escapes. They escaped through a hole dug in the floor of the prison cell.
