JAKARTA - The Tanjung Duren Sector Police distributed basic food assistance to scavengers, garbage collectors, junk traders and parking attendants in a number of areas in the Grogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta.

Assistance is given to ease the economic burden of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to meet food needs.

Slamet, one of the junk traders, was happy when he received rice assistance from the police. The man, who has been selling junk around for 7 years, said he was happy to get help.

Slamet considered this assistance very helpful for him in meeting his family's food needs. Especially in difficult times like today, where Slamet is trying to survive for himself and his family.

"Alhamdulillah, this is very helpful. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the economy has become difficult," said Slamet, Wednesday, September 15.

Slamet also prayed for the police officers to be given health and fortune because they had distributed aid to the poor.

"Good luck, I am very grateful to the police mother and father, because this basic food assistance can ease the burden on our family," said Slamet.

Tanjung Duren Police Chief Commissioner Rosana Albertina Labobar said the distribution of basic food items in the form of rice was a form of the Police's concern for the poor and those affected by COVID-19.
