Shortly After Akidi Tio's 'Bodong' Donation Drama, South Sumatra Police Chief Removed

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has removed Inspector General Eko Indra Heri from the position of South Sumatra Police Chief. The dismissal of Inspector General Eko occurred shortly after the case of fraudulent donations from Akidi Tio's son worth Rp2 trillion.

The removal was stated in the secret telegram (STR) number ST/1701/VIII/KEP2021.

"Yes, it is true that there is rotation," said the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, when confirmed, Wednesday, August 25.

However, Argo denied that Inspector General Eko Indra Heri's rotation was related to the donation funds. According to him, the rotation of Polri members is only a refresher of the organization.

In the STR, Inspector General Eko Indra Heri was transferred to the position of Karosahli, the National Police Chief. Meanwhile, Inspector General Toni Harmanto will replace his position.

"Just a refresh of the organization," said Argo.

If you go back a bit, Inspector General Eko's removal is strongly suspected to be related to Akidi Tio's fraudulent donations. This is because the removal was carried out shortly after the special inspection and supervision team (Wasriksus) completed the examination of Inspector General Eko.

"The team from Wariksus Itwasusm has returned from South Sumatra in order to ask for information at the South Sumatra Police. Then the Propam team has also returned, the Paminal team has also returned," said Argo.

Moreover, all the results of the examination will be handed over to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Then, based on the results of the report, the next steps will be determined.

"Later, let the results of the examination be submitted to the National Police Chief," continued Argo.

Stupid Donation

This case began when the South Sumatra Regional Police received funding assistance for COVID-19 in the amount of Rp. 2 trillion for the handling of COVID-19.

This assistance was provided by the family of the late Akidi Tio, a successful businessman from Langsa City, East Aceh Regency through their family doctor in Palembang, Prof dr Hardi Darmawan.

The distribution of aid funds was also handed over to the South Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Eko Indra Heri and witnessed by South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru, South Sumatra Health Service Head Lesty Nuraini and 044/Gapo Danrem, Brigadier General Jauhari Agus Suraji.

However, until now the money has not been given. It is even suspected that Heryanti only lied about the Rp2 trillion money.

Based on the results of the investigation and examination of the bank, which did not find the whereabouts of the Rp2 trillion money.

“So it can be ascertained that the balance in the bilyet giro account given by sister Heryanti is not sufficient. That is the result of clarification or coordination in South Sumatra," said the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Police, Kombes Supriadi.

However, the police have not been able to confirm the amount of balance actually owned by Heryanti. This is because the bank cannot notify you because it is regulated in banking regulations.

"So regarding the name of the account holder, this customer data is bank secret, so the bank cannot give it to the police," said Supriadi.
