JAKARTA - The construction of the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A North-South crossing, which connects HI Roundabout to the City, has reached 62.68 percent as of July 25, 2026. This achievement exceeds the progress target of 61.92 percent, while the tunnel from HI Roundabout to the City is now connected.

Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) Rendy Primartantyo said the project, which is about 5.8 kilometers long, is divided into two segments, namely the HI-Harmoni roundabout, which is targeted to be completed by the end of 2027 and Harmoni-Kota by the end of 2029.

"The development of the North-South Line Phase 2A continues to show significant progress. As of July 25, 2026, the construction has reached 62.68 percent of the target of 61.92 percent," said Rendy in his statement, Thursday, August 13.

The CP201 contract package, which includes Thamrin Station and Monas, is one of the parts of the project that is almost completed. The progress reached 93.90 percent.

At Thamrin Station, work has entered the stage of rebuilding the pedestrian area, Transjakarta stops, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) installations, as well as roof work and completion of station access. Meanwhile, at Monas Station, work is focused on the interior, access, restoration of the station area, to system testing.

"PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) targets the completion and operation of this segment by the end of 2027," said Rendy.

On the CP202 contract package which includes the construction of tunnels as well as Harmoni, Sawah Besar, and Mangga Besar stations, the construction progress has reached 68 percent. This package is one of the largest underground construction projects in Indonesia because it involves tunnels and four-storey stations.

"As of July 2026, tunnel drilling machine 1 has penetrated the southern side of Mangga Besar Station. This moment makes the tunnel direction north from HI Roundabout to the City connected," explained Rwndy.

Meanwhile, the CP203 contract package which includes Glodok and Kota Stations has reached 86.85 percent. The work that is still ongoing includes pipe and cable installation, plastering, painting, wall panel installation, and other architectural work.

Outside of civil works, the CP205 contract package that handles the rail system also recorded progress of 52.45 percent, higher than the target of 44.96 percent.

"As of July 25, the casting of the rails in the north and south tunnel of the HI-Thamrin roundabout segment has been completed, including the area of the Thamrin station platform. The construction team is continuing the casting towards the Monas Station. So far, the casting of the second track bed has reached 3,465 track meters," said Rendy.

For railway facilities, the CP206 contract package which includes the procurement of train sets has entered the technical design phase. Meanwhile, the CP207 contract package for the automatic payment system is in the preparation phase of commencement with the Hitachi Sumitomo Consortium as the project executor.

Phase 2A of the Jakarta MRT will connect seven underground stations, namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota. This project worth around Rp. 25.3 trillion is financed through a loan cooperation between the Indonesian Government and Japan.

Meanwhile, the plan for the construction of Phase 2B which will continue the track from the city to Depo Ancol Barat is still in the feasibility study stage.
