"To be honest, since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mother that both of my young children deserve, while devoting the time, energy, and constant attention required of a White House Press Secretary - and that is why I have finally made this difficult but necessary decision to leave the White House and begin a new chapter in my life," Leavitt wrote.
Prior to serving as press secretary, Leavitt was Trump's spokesperson during the 2024 presidential election campaign and transition. He also worked in Trump's first administration as well as for Republican House of Representatives member Elise Stefanik.
