Spain-Morocco Speed Up Deportation of Thousands of Migrants who Broke into Ceuta

Spain and Morocco have agreed to speed up the deportation process for immigrants who have illegally crossed into Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous city on the North African coast.

"Both countries have agreed to strengthen coordination and joint efforts to deal with this immigration flow, as well as review and implement measures that will allow for the immediate transfer to Morocco for all those who have entered Ceuta illegally," Spain's Ministry of the Interior said, quoted by Sputnik, Friday, July 31.

Ceuta has recently experienced a sharp spike in the number of immigrants trying to enter the autonomous city illegally from Morocco, both by swimming and walking.

Spanish Minister of the Interior (Mendagri) Fernando Grande-Marlaskatetap is in communication with the Moroccan Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftitterkait with this matter.
