JAKARTA - The police have alerted joint personnel to ensure that the condition of the Tambak Street area, Menteng, Central Jakarta, remains conducive after the clashes that occurred Sunday morning.

Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol Reynold EP Hutagalung, said that his party, together with the Menteng Police, Kodim 0501/Central Jakarta, and the operational control assistance personnel (BKO) from the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Kodam Jaya, were alerted at the location.

"Today we from the Central Jakarta Police, Kodim 0501 and Menteng Police were assisted by the full BKO from the ranks of the Polda Metro Jaya and Kodam Jaya to carry out security to create a conducive situation in the Tambak Street, Menteng area," said Reynold in Jakarta, Sunday.

He explained that the clash began at around 10.00 WIB due to a dispute between a group of people and Matraman residents.

The commotion then shifted to Jalan Tambak and ended in a stone-throwing action.

As a result of the incident, two people were evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). One of the victims with the initials K (23) died, while the other victim is still undergoing treatment.

The Police Chief appealed to the public not to easily believe information that has not been verified regarding the incident.

"Until tonight we ensure that the situation is safe and conducive. We provide a sense of security and comfort to residents, especially in the Tambak, Matraman and Menteng areas," he said.

According to Reynold, the police will also continue to patrol to maintain security and follow up on every report from the public that has the potential to disrupt public order.

He added that the investigation into the causes of the clash is still ongoing to reveal all parties involved in accordance with legal procedures.

"We are doing this for law enforcement so that both parties can be fair in the law enforcement process, both for citizens and for a group of people who are victims," he said.
