Family Prayers Accompany Elisye W Ketaren's Funeral, Minister Of Law And Human Rights Yasonna Sprinkles Soil On The Coffin

JAKARTA - Prayers from religious leaders and families accompany the funeral procession of the late wife of the Indonesian Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, Elisye Widya Ketaren, at San Diego Hills Memorial Park, Karawang, West Java, Saturday, June 12.

The words of God as written in the Bible, the holy book of Christians, were read by Yasonna and her close family before the coffin was lowered into the grave.

"Because if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then we believe that God will gather those who died in Jesus together with Him," Yasonna said, quoting one of the Bible's contents.

After reading the word of God, Yasonna also sprinkled soil on the coffin of his late wife.

The subsequent sowing of soil was then spread by Yasonna's children and close relatives. The casket is then slowly lowered and covered with earth and a sprinkling of flowers.

In the procession, only family and close relatives were allowed to sow flowers on the grave of the late Elisye for reasons of health protocol.

Elisye W Ketaren passed away on Thursday, June 10, at 15.25 WIB at the Gatot Subroto Medistra Hospital, Jakarta.

The body was then buried at the Sentosa Funeral Home, RSPAD, Jakarta until Saturday morning.

While being buried at the funeral home, the church congregation and their relatives carried out a series of worship services, namely consolation services on last Friday and release services on Saturday.

During the event, a number of public figures and officials, including the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo, ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, national figures such as Jusuf Kalla, visited the funeral home on Friday to express condolences to the Minister of Law and Human Rights and his family.

After the release service and funeral ceremony, family and relatives are scheduled to carry out a thanksgiving service on Saturday at around 19.00 WIB - 21.00 WIB.

The service ended the series of funeral processions, which were scheduled to take place at Graha Pengayoman, the Office of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Jakarta.
