Commission III Says the Police Chief's "Cooling System" Step to Meet the Attorney General is Correct

Member of Commission III of the DPR M Nasir Djamil said that the visit of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo together with a number of senior police officers who met with the Attorney General ST Burhanuddin and the TNI Commander General Agus Subianto was a right and careful step.

According to him, the meeting not only serves as a "cooling system or cooler", but a real form of the institution of state tools must unite in the effort to enforce just and civilized laws.

Although some parties consider that the silaturrahim is more symbolic, Nasir Djamil considers that the meeting can melt the atmosphere that had been tense due to the legal process that is currently affecting the former Jampidsus Febri Adriansyah.

"In a short time, the National Police Chief General Sigit took the initiative to cool down the atmosphere that had been hot. The action of meeting and talking directly has closed the wild speculation about friction between the prosecutor's office and the police and TNI institutions", Nasir Djamil told reporters, Tuesday, July 14.

"If this situation is allowed to 'freeze', it will facilitate those who want the three state tools, as the saying goes, 'like fire in a husk'," he continued.

Even so, the PKS legislator from Aceh hopes that the legal process that is now affecting the former Jampidsus Febri Adriansyah will still be carried out objectively, transparently, fairly, responsibly and with integrity.

"Many community groups have pinned their hopes on the fact that handing over the legal process of Febri from the police to the Prosecutor's Office will still prioritize professionalism and integrity," said Nasir.

Nasir asked the President to find the root of the problem and offer solutions so that similar events do not recur in the future. "The power of law enforcement by law enforcement officers needs extra supervision", he concluded.
