OTT Kuansing Reportedly Leaked, KPK Spokesperson: Information to be Investigated

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) spoke up about the leak of information in the hand-in-hand operation (OTT) process in the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) region since Monday, June 30.

The search will be carried out considering that the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby and Zulkarnaen as the Regent of Kuansing Regency are still unknown.

"We will continue to investigate (the leak, ed)," said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 30.

Based on source information, the leak came from another party who was suspected of knowing the team's movements in the field. While when confirmed, Budi did not want to elaborate further.

He only emphasized that the team was still focused on searching for Suhardiman and Zulkarnaen. Because, their statements are needed to strengthen the construction of the silent operation.

"What is certain is that the team is conducting a search for related parties, including the regent and the secretary of state, who until now have not found their position," he said.

"So we appeal on this occasion to the Regent and also the Secretary of State of Kuansing to be cooperative, surrender to the KPK, so that the legal process that is underway can be carried out effectively," continued Budi.

As previously reported, the KPK held an OTT in the Kuantan Singingi and Jakarta regions since Monday, June 30. From this activity, 10 people were secured and five were taken to the KPK Red and White building.

This OTT is said to be related to bribery of buying and selling positions. The KPK will officially announce the suspects and the construction of the case through a press conference on Wednesday, July 1.
