Prevent Truck Accidents, UPPKB Cilincing Says Vehicle Owners Must Test Eligibility Every 6 Months

JAKARTA - The Head of the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UPPKB) Cilincing, Adji Kusambarto, asked that every public vehicle and goods operating on the road must be in a condition of being fit for the road in order to anticipate traffic accidents.

"To prevent accidents, we must ensure that vehicles operating on the road are in good condition," said Adji when confirmed, Monday, June 29, 2021.

Adji appealed to public and goods vehicle owners to periodically test their motor vehicles every 6 months.

"Regular vehicle checks must be carried out by vehicle owners, as well as in terms of testing motor vehicles, which must be carried out periodically every 6 months to ensure that the vehicle is fit to operate starting from the physical vehicle, engine, exhaust, braking, and others," he said.

Previously, a wing box truck had a fatal accident on Jalan Cut Mutia, Bekasi City, allegedly due to a brake failure on Monday, June 29, 2026. As a result of the incident, one rider was killed and 5 others were injured.
