JAKARTA - The government officially designated the work of graphic designer Fajar Novario as the logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. The logo was chosen because it was considered to represent the spirit of unity through the richness of traditional motifs from various regions in Indonesia.
The announcement of the winners was made by Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (29/6).
"Visually, this logo looks firm, but also has a strong philosophy. The design comes from the exploration of the diversity of traditional Nusantara motifs which shows that diversity is the foundation of the sovereignty of the people towards a sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia," said Juri.
According to Juri, the logo was determined after going through a competition facilitated by the Ministry of Creative Economy together with the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI). The government also appreciates the high participation of the public in the logo design selection process.
He invited all government agencies, SOEs, BUMD, the business world, community organizations, and the public to use the official logo of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on various promotional media, social media, and public spaces according to the guidelines that have been prepared by the committee.
The jury said President Prabowo Subianto hopes the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia will truly belong to the people. Therefore, the public is asked to enliven the independence celebration by flying the Red and White flag, holding various activities in their respective environments, and using the official theme and logo of the Republic of Indonesia Independence Day.
"Mr. President wants the excitement of the Indonesian Independence Day to belong to all the people. Therefore, we invite the public to actively participate in celebrating this year's independence," said Juri.
The committee stated that the series of activities for the 81st RI Independence Day will be announced gradually in the near future.
