BANDUNG - The West Java Regional Police revealed that the suspect in the case of persecution and kidnapping of a woman with the initials YTR, Taufik Hidayat, has a high-tempered character based on the results of the investigation and the deepening of the investigators.

West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan said investigators had asked the suspect's family for information to delve into his character and mental state.

"The results of the family's statement show that the suspect's character is indeed temperamental. If he doesn't get something that meets his expectations, he tends to commit violence," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 26.

In addition, he said, the results of the preliminary examination showed that the suspect had a habit of drinking alcoholic beverages, was highly jealous of the victim, and admitted to experiencing pressure in his work as a debt collector.

According to Rudi, investigators also involved a psychiatrist to study the psychological condition of the suspect as part of the investigation process.

He explained that the suspect was suspected of repeatedly committing violence against the victim using his bare hands, blunt objects, and sharp objects, resulting in the victim suffering serious injuries in several parts of the body.

"In addition to hitting the victim's face, the suspect is also suspected of stabbing the victim's body with cigarettes and confining the victim by locking him in the room before leaving him helpless," said Rudi.

Until now, West Java Police investigators are still completing evidence and examining witnesses to complete the case file before it is forwarded to the public prosecutor.
