Government Guarantees Victims of Bandung Kidnapping to Receive the Best Treatment until Recovery

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) will guarantee the recovery of YTR (29), a victim of abuse and kidnapping by her lover, Taufik Hidayat (30) in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, West Java.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed that the recovery would be carried out to the maximum by Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung.

"If our duty to victims of violence is to care for them and that has been done at Hasan Sadikin," Budi told reporters at the DPR/MPR complex on Thursday, June 25.

"What is the progress like, my suggestion is better to ask there, because I don't update every day. The progress is at Hasan Sadikin Hospital," he added.

Budi said the recovery process includes reconstruction to facial rehabilitation. He said the process would be carried out according to medical standards.

"The Ministry of Health's responsibility is to ensure the most optimal treatment for the person concerned and it is already underway at Hasan Sadikin Hospital," he said.

YTR who was a victim of kidnapping and persecution by her lover Taufik Hidayat suffered physical and psychological suffering.

"The patient's condition has improved, we from RSHS provide the best services and teams," said the Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research of RSHS Bandung, Dr. Fitra Hergyana, Tuesday, June 23.

The victim is currently receiving comprehensive treatment from a multidisciplinary medical team to accelerate the recovery process.
