JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) believes that the former Head of the Marunda Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office (KPPBC) Ahmad Dedi alias Dedi Congor also enjoyed Rp30 billion from Blueray Cargo.

The prosecutor conveyed this belief when reading the charges against John Field and his two subordinates in the case of alleged bribes for import management at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) Central Jakarta today, June 22. The money was given by Blueray Cargo Boss, John Field to a number of officials of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC).

"Based on the testimony of Defendant I (John Field), the donation to Ahmad Dedi alias Dedi Congor was included in the financial report of the donation for the Customs with the code 'Sales 1'," said KPK Prosecutor Takdir Suhan when reading the indictment.

Not only in the demand letter, the prosecutor also emphasized that his party had included the alleged receipt of money by Dedi Congor as part of the analysis of the case.

"Well, the connection with Decong, yes, the abbreviation is yes, Dedi Congor, we have also reviewed in the demand that it is one unit, he also enjoys a total of Rp30 billion," said the prosecutor.

"That's why, earlier we also made an analysis (of the claim) that Ahmad Dedi alias Dedi Congor also enjoyed it and he also had a share," he continued.

The KPK prosecutor demanded Blueray Cargo boss, John Field, a three-year prison sentence. The demand was made because he was found guilty of allegedly giving bribes to a number of officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise regarding the import of goods.

In addition, John Field was also ordered to pay a fine of IDR 300 million in lieu of a substitute imprisonment of 100 days.

Meanwhile, for the other two Blueray Cargo executives, namely Dedi Kurniawan Sukolo and Andri, they were sentenced to two years and six months and a fine of Rp. 200 million each, in lieu of 80 days of imprisonment.

The prosecutor said that the three defendants were proven to be legally and convincingly guilty of committing corruption as in the first indictment, violating Article 605 Paragraph (1) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code and other provisions.

The aggravating thing is that the three of them do not support the government's program in realizing a government that is free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism. Their actions are also considered to have damaged the image of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, what is mitigating is that the three defendants were polite in the trial and were never convicted.

As previously reported, the name of the Director General (Dirjen) of Customs and Excise, Djaka Budi Utama, appeared in the letter of indictment for the alleged bribery of import management at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) which ensnared the owner of Blueray Cargo, John Field.

"A meeting was held between officials at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, including Djaka Budi Utama, Rizal, Sisprian Subiaksono and Orlando Hamonangan Sianipar with cargo entrepreneurs," read the KPK prosecutor's indictment letter.
