Commemorating 1 Muharram, Pegadaian Serves 2,600 Participants in National Mass Circumcision

JAKARTA - Pegadaian Kantor Wilayah VIII Jakarta 1 held a free mass circumcision for hundreds of children in commemoration of the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah, as a form of social concern for the community.

Director of Network and Operations of PT Pegadaian, Eka Pebriansyah, said that the activity was attended by around 150 participants at the VIII Jakarta 1 Regional Office, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

"Currently, the number is approximately 150 participants, yes, for mass circumcision. The animation is quite high," Eka told reporters, Sunday, June 21, 2026.

He explained that this mass circumcision activity is open to the public without special requirements, so that it can be followed by people from various backgrounds.

"No, yes, the community is free. All, all religions are also allowed, free. Children, adults can also be if they want it, who have not been circumcised, please, can. Everyone can participate," he said.

Eka added that nationally, the number of participants in the mass circumcision organized by Pegadaian reached around 2,600 people. This program is routinely carried out every year, especially during school holidays.

"This is a routine activity, we are doing activities in June because it coincides with the school children's holidays," he said.

In addition to mass circumcision services, Pegadaian also provides free health checks for the general public, customers, and company retirees.

"Health checks for the general public, customers, and also for retirees. So anyone is open to the public," he said.

This activity is part of Pegadaian's commitment to provide sustainable social benefits as well as strengthen relations with the community through health services and other social activities.
