JAKARTA - The Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurrahman, summoned all stakeholders related to the controversy of 15 containers containing Ilmenite mine minerals owned by PT Putra Mineral Mandiri (PMM). This step was taken to get clarity and to settle the case transparently.

PT PMM's Legal Advisor, Poltak Silitonga, confirmed the presence of his client in the meeting. Poltak stated that the invitation from KSP was intended to provide in-depth clarification to straighten out the skewed issue that was circulating.

"We were invited to provide clarification on the problems that have developed so far, especially the allegation that PT PMM is smuggling hazardous goods and rare earth metals," he told the media at the KSP Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (17/6/2026).

The meeting, which was directly led by Dudung, was attended by a number of authorized agencies, including Customs, Sucofindo, Bakamla Batam, and the Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung.

On that occasion, Poltak emphasized that all export activities of PT PMM had been carried out in accordance with the legal corridor. Poltak strongly denied the allegations that their commodities contained radioactive materials or prohibited minerals.

"We explain in detail based on the fact that there is no exploitation or export of mineral goods prohibited by the state, whether it is rare earth metals (LTJ) or radioactive nuclear materials," he said.

PT PMM claimed that Customs and Sucofindo who were present at the meeting also strengthened their explanation. Both institutions stated that the inspection process of 15 containers had fulfilled the applicable procedures.

"They said that all procedures had been carried out. Goods belonging to PT PMM already have certificates and valid documents, so they are eligible for export. The permit is the domain of the Customs," said Poltak.

Furthermore, Poltak also questioned the basis of the Trisakti Task Force's claim that there was a violation based on the results of the PT Timah laboratory. According to him, PT Timah does not have the legal capacity to test the ownership of other parties' containers.

"When can they issue lab results for PT PMM's property? Even though they are not official institutions authorized to conduct laboratory tests," he said.

Meanwhile, Poltak added, the General Dudung Abdurrahman KSP welcomed all the presentations and promised to examine and further study input from all parties before making the next decision or recommendation.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Reskiansyah, emphasized that the authority of the local government in this matter is limited to the aspect of administrative licensing of mining business.

"If we are related to administration in the region, our capacity is only on mining business permits," said Reskiansyah after attending a meeting at the KSP Office.

According to him, all processes that are the authority of the Provincial Government of Bangka Belitung Islands have been carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures and provisions. He emphasized that the issue of exports is not the domain of the local government.

"What is clear, if it is in accordance with the procedures and our capacity, yes, it is related to licensing in the region. If it is related to exports, it is not our domain," he said.
