BOGOR - The Catholic Professionals and Entrepreneurs (PUKAT) of the Bogor Suffragan Diocese targets 2,000 participants in the charity sports event entitled FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope which will be held in Sentul City, Bogor, on September 12, 2026.

The activity, which is open to the public, is part of the series of National Sports Day celebrations and carries the concept of running and walking together which is combined with social action to help pre-prosperous families, the elderly, education, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The Chairperson of PUKAT Bogor, Monica Kusjanti, said FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope was designed as a space for the community to maintain health while sharing concern for others.

"Through every step in FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope, we want to invite everyone not only to care about their own health, but also to spread hope and kindness to others. Exercising while doing charity is a tangible form of our concern," said Monica in Bogor City, Saturday, June 13.

According to him, this activity is in line with the spirit of the 2026 Jubilee of Saint Francis which emphasizes concern for the little ones, the weak, and those who need social attention.

"We are invited to become physically and spiritually healthy individuals, as well as to have social concern. Mens sana in corpore sano, a healthy body in a healthy soul, must go hand in hand with concern for others," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Committee, Fransiska Satriawan explained, FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope will be held with a hybrid concept so that participants can attend the event in person or virtually from various regions. This concept is expected to expand community participation in the sports movement as well as the humanitarian action.

He assessed that every step of the participants had more meaning than just physical activity. Through this activity, participants are expected to contribute to bringing hope and real assistance to people in need.

Vicar General (Vikjen) of the Sufragan Bogor Diocese, RD Yohanes Driyanto, welcomed the implementation of this activity. According to him, FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope is an important reminder of the importance of maintaining health while increasing social awareness.

"PUKAT initiated this activity as a concrete step to start caring for ourselves for everyone. FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope is a tangible manifestation of a call for concern for fellow human beings in a healthy way, it is truly extraordinary," said Romo Driyanto.

He hopes that this activity will not only be a sports event, but also a means of strengthening brotherhood and building a common awareness for a healthy life sustainably.

Furthermore, Romo Driyanto assessed that social activities such as FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope can be a tangible form of the community's presence in helping people who face economic difficulties.

According to him, although it cannot solve all social problems, this activity can be a means to bring together those who have the ability to share with the community in need of assistance.

"One of them is economically many people leave from a lack. Of course it is not a potential to solve all problems, but they realize their strength and what they can do in society. So they make FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope and they run it," he said.

He hopes that the benefits of these activities will not only be felt in the form of material assistance, but also bring hope to disadvantaged people.

"Hopefully, our less fortunate brothers and sisters can feel that God is still working, God still gives mercy and shows His love through brothers and sisters," said Romo Driyanto.

With the spirit of "Caring for Fitness, Caring for Others", FIT4CARE-Miles of Hope is expected to become a sustainable movement that is able to encourage a healthy lifestyle, strengthen social solidarity, and provide real benefits for people in need.
