JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the Regent of Muara Enim Edison received a quota of 5 percent from project partners in the Muara Enim Regency Government environment.
The suspicion was revealed in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) that ensnared four people as suspects on Monday, June 8.
This was conveyed by the acting (Plt) Director of KPK Investigation Achmad Taufik Husein during a post-silent operation press conference. He said that the receipt was related to the procurement project for smart boards at the Education and Culture Office (Dikbud) of Muara Enim Regency in the 2025 Fiscal Year.
The smart board was supplied by PT Millenium Solusi Abadi (MSA) to PT My Icon Technology (MIT). The company then allegedly gave money to officials in the Muara Enim Regency Government.
The meeting, said Taufik, was held on June 6 by the marketing of PT MSA Cory Erin Hardi (CRH). He is suspected of meeting the Secretary of the Education and Culture Office of Muara Enim Regency Abi Nurwardani (ABN).
"In the meeting, ABN allegedly received cash amounting to Rp500 million from CRH," said Taufik in a press conference at the KPK Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 9.
According to the KPK, the money was given to maintain good relations with the local government. So, the company can get projects in the future.
Not only related to projects at the Education Office, Edison is also suspected of receiving deposits from a number of partners who worked on projects in various local government agencies (OPD) in the Muara Enim Regency.
Taufik explained that the parties used nominee accounts and cash deposits to disguise the flow of funds.
"Then, on the nominee accounts, ABN acted as the account controller. ABN is suspected of distributing the flow of money with a certain percentage, namely 5 percent for the Regent, 3 percent for the head of the service (kadis), and 1 percent for the PPK and treasurer," said Taufik.
In the period 2025 to 2026, the money for Edison was said to be channeled through cash withdrawals from the nominee's account. The funds were then handed over through Radiansa to Adi Triyadi who was Edison's nephew and trusted person.
"The money received was used for personal needs of EDS," said Taufik.
The KPK has now named four suspects. They are Muara Enim Regent Edison (EDS), Secretary of the Education and Culture Office of Muara Enim Regency Abi Nurwardani (ABN), Adi Triyadi (ADT), and marketing of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi (CRH).
The four suspects were immediately detained for the first 20 days, from June 9 to June 28, 2026, at the KPK Red and White Building Branch Detention Center.
While being detained, Edison did not say anything. He chose to walk directly into the prisoner's car.
As a result of their actions, Edison, Abi, and Adi are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a and/or Article 12 letter b and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 as well as criminal provisions in the new Criminal Code.
Meanwhile, Cory was charged with bribery as regulated in Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment jo Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
