Murder of Kacab Bank Accused Sentenced to 1 Year to 13 Years in Prison

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta District Military Court, East Jakarta, has sentenced the defendants in the alleged kidnapping and murder of a bank branch head (kacab) with the initials MIP (37) to prison sentences ranging from one to 13 years.

"Considering that after examining and considering the above matters, the panel of judges considers that the sentence as stated in the dictum below is fair and balanced with the defendants' mistakes," said Chief Justice Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto in the reading of the verdict at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, East Jakarta, Wednesday, June 3, reported by ANTARA.

In its decision, the panel of judges stated that defendant one, Serka Mochamad Nasir, was sentenced to 13 years in prison after being found legally and convincingly guilty of committing a crime in the subsider indictment "murder in common".

Then, the defendant, two Kopda Feri Herianto, was sentenced to seven years in prison after being proven legally and convincingly guilty of the crime of "seizing someone's independence resulting in death, which was carried out together".

Meanwhile, the third defendant, Serka Frengky Yaru, was sentenced to one year in prison after being proven legally and convincingly guilty of the crime of "seizing someone's independence resulting in death, which was carried out together".

"Accused one and two were given additional sentences of dismissal from military service," said Fredy.

In the reading of the charges at the Military Court on Monday (18/5), the defendant, one Serka Mochamad Nasir, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, minus the period of detention he had already served.

Then, defendant two, Kopda Feri Herianto, was sentenced to 10 years in prison, minus the period of detention he had served. Meanwhile, defendant three, Serka Frengky Yaru, was sentenced to four years in prison.

In addition, the defendants one and two are also charged with additional criminal offenses in the form of dismissal from the military service in the TNI AD.

The defendant is also required to pay compensation (restitution) to the victim's family in the amount of IDR 5.8 billion as LPSK has conducted an in-depth examination of information and assessment of the amount of loss suffered by the victim or his heirs for the criminal incident experienced.

The restitution application was filed by the victim's wife, Puspita Aulia, as the victim's heir. In a letter dated May 13, 2026, LPSK said it had conducted an investigation, deepened information, and calculated the losses suffered by the victim and his family.

The restitution relates to the case of alleged premeditated murder and premeditated persecution which resulted in death with three TNI AD defendants.
