Fire Burns Down Houses in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, 33 Units Damkar Dispatched

JAKARTA - A fire hit a residential house on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, RT 02/RW 05, Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, on Monday evening.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Office, Bayu Meghantara, in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, explained that 33 units of combined fire fleets and 100 personnel had been deployed to the scene.

"The fire report was received by officers at 20.55 WIB," he said as quoted by Antara.

Following up on the report, the initial deployment was immediately carried out from the Kemayoran Sector III Office using a medium pressure fire truck.

Firefighters arrived at the location, which was at the point of knowing the Jami' Al Ikhlas Mosque, at 21.05 WIB and immediately carried out the firefighting operation.

"The current situation is still in the process of extinguishing (red status). Officers in the field continue to try to localize the fire because the spread of the fire at the location is considered very possible," said Bayu.

Until this news was released, it was not known for sure what caused the fire or the total material losses due to the incident in the low-rise building.

Bayu added that officers were still focusing on extinguishing the fire in the residential area so that the fire would not spread to surrounding buildings.
