Saudi Arabia announced that the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj pilgrimage was successful with the support of an integrated security, organizational, and service system.

The announcement was made by Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, deputy governor of the Makkah Region and deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Hajj and Umrah, in a statement broadcast on Friday (29/5) ahead of the end of the Hajj season.

According to Prince Saud, this year's Hajj season is supported by an integrated security, organizational, and service system so that pilgrims can carry out their worship smoothly and safely.

He emphasized that the success of the implementation of the hajj was not the end of the Saudi government's duties, but the beginning of a new responsibility in serving Islam and Muslims.

On Tuesday, Saudi Arabia's statistical authority said the number of pilgrims this year reached 1,707,301.

The number consists of 1,546,655 pilgrims from 165 countries and 160,646 pilgrims from within Saudi Arabia.

This figure is higher than the 1,673,230 pilgrims in 2025, but still below the 1.83 million more pilgrims recorded in 2024.

The series of Hajj rituals began on Monday (25/5) with the arrival of pilgrims in Mina, western Saudi Arabia, amid tight service and security support.

The six-day hajj includes wukuf at Arafah, staying at Muzdalifah, throwing jumrah at Mina, and tawaf wada at the Grand Mosque, Mecca.

The series of Hajj rituals this year ended on Saturday.
