JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, carried out the sunnah prayer of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah with Indonesian citizens (WNI) and the diaspora in France. This sacred moment took place at Wisma Indonesia, Paris, on Wednesday (27/5/2026), which coincided with the date of 10 Zulhijah 1447 Hijriah.

The presence of the Head of State in the midst of the congregation is a remedy for the longing of the Indonesian people who are in the region.

Accompanied by the echo of takbir, President Prabowo arrived at Wisma Indonesia at around 08.40 local time. The President immediately mingled and headed to the front row to chant takbir with the congregation before the series of prayers began.

The Eid al-Adha prayer was carried out very diligently. Hundreds of Indonesian citizens and Indonesian diaspora in Paris were seen filling the area of the Indonesian Embassy since morning to be able to worship and also meet the President.

Sermon Message: Slaughter Ego for Unity

Acting as imam and khatib in the Eid al-Adha prayer this time was Fakhruddin Arrozi. He is a graduate of the S2 of the International Islamic University of Islamabad, Pakistan, who is currently active as a lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Lamongan.

In his sermon, Fakhruddin emphasized that Eid al-Adha is a holiday that contains the dimensions of divinity and humanity. For Muslims living as a diaspora, the sacrifice is an important reminder to maintain their Islamic identity, strengthen families, and strengthen unity.

"We are not ordered to slaughter our children as Prophet Ibrahim AS, but we are ordered to slaughter our egos in order to obey the commands of Allah SWT," said Fakhruddin in his sermon which touched the hearts of the congregation.
