Trump Says Iran's Enriched Uranium Will Be Destroyed in U.S. or Elsewhere

JAKARTA - Iran's enriched uranium will soon be handed over to the United States to be destroyed or destroyed on-site, or at another acceptable location," President Donald Trump said on Monday.

"Enriched Uranium (Nuclear Dust!) will soon be handed over to the United States to be taken home and destroyed or, preferably, together and in coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, destroyed on the spot or, in another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, to witness this process and events," Trump said in a post on Truth Social, Anadolu (26/5) reported.

The message comes as talks to hammer out a deal to end the US-Israeli war against Iran are nearing a conclusion.

On Monday morning, Pakistan's military chief Field Marshal Asim Munir told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that a US-Iranian deal was "almost reached," according to Chinese state media, as Islamabad's mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington intensified.

Marshal Munir made the statement during a meeting in Beijing held in conjunction with the official visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to China, as reported by China Daily, citing the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Marshal Munir explained to Foreign Minister Wang about the latest developments in Pakistan's role in negotiations aimed at easing tensions between Iran and the US.

The Pakistani military chief flew to Beijing after his trip last week to Tehran, where he held talks with the leaders of the country of the mullahs.

According to the report, Marshal Munir said Pakistan was willing to "continue to make every effort" to facilitate the deal and expressed hope that China would play a bigger role in the process.
