Pemprov Kaltara Mulai Monev KIP 2026, Badan Publik Diminta Lebih Terbuka

The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) has started implementing the 2026 Public Information Disclosure (KIP) Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev).

TANJUNG SELOR - The North Kalimantan Provincial Government (Pemprov) has started implementing the 2026 Public Information Disclosure (KIP) Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev).

The activity was launched by the Regional Secretary of the Province (Sekprov) of Kaltara, Denny Harianto, at the Governor's Office of Kaltara, Monday, May 25.

"I ask all public bodies in Kaltara to increase openness to the public. This information openness is a duty that must be carried out by all government agencies, both at the provincial and district and city levels," said Denny.

"This is the responsibility of all levels of government, including vertical institutions to public bodies throughout Kaltara," he continued.

He emphasized that Law Number 14 of 2008 concerning Public Information Disclosure guarantees the public's right to obtain information openly and responsibly.

"Therefore, public bodies are required to be more transparent and responsive in providing information services," he said.

Denny said that the Monev KIP is one of the instruments for measuring public bodies' compliance with the principle of information openness. In addition, monitoring is carried out to see the implementation of information services.

"Evaluations are also carried out to assess the indicators that have been set by the Information Commission. The Provincial Government hopes that the implementation of the Monev KIP can improve government governance while improving the quality of public services in the region," said Denny.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Information Commission (KI) of Kaltara, Fajar Mentari, said that the participation of public bodies in the Monev KIP had increased compared to the previous year.

"In 2024, the public agency participation rate was recorded at 43.9 percent of the target of 221 public agencies. Meanwhile, in 2025 it increased to 79.6 percent or 204 public agencies out of a total of 256 targets," said Fajar.

In addition, the results of the assessment also show progress. If in 2024 there is no public agency that falls into the informative category, then in 2025 there are seven public agencies that have managed to achieve the informative predicate.

"The essence of openness to information is not just competition, but how public bodies are able to provide the best information services to the public," he concluded. (*)
